Chinese Models Surpass OpenAI in Token Volume

According to the post, token usage for Chinese models on OpenRouter has crossed the halfway mark. The latest data shows Chinese models account for 45% of total token volume, compared to 15.3% for Anthropic and 7.4% for OpenAI. The author also argues that open source models are now "good enough" for coding and agentic tasks, offering 1 million token contexts at a fraction of the cost of GPT or Claude.
