krishnan · x · 2026-07-08
Krishnan points out that Meta is shifting from merely spending on AI to renting out capacity. According to Reuters, Meta is exploring a service that would allow developers to access hosted models and pay for the underlying compute, potentially selling raw compute capacity as well.
This signals a pivot in the AI infrastructure market from a pure model race to an asset utilization game. Meta has already invested billions of dollars into its AI infrastructure.
