London-based company Particle 6's AI "actor" Tilly Norwood has secured a lead role in a feature film, starring in the coming-of-age movie Misaligned. Described as a "hybrid production," the film sees traditional filmmakers collaborating with trained AI experts. Founder Eline van der Velden noted that the company has upskilled a team of over 30 people, emphasizing that AI can support high-quality narrative films, but only with significant investment of human craft, judgment, and time. She predicts that the winning filmmakers over the next decade will be those who bring decades of storytelling intuition to these new tools.
