Alibaba has open-sourced zvec, a lightweight, high-speed, in-process vector database written in C++, gaining over 13,000 stars (up 355 daily). Supporting HNSW, faiss, semantic search, RAG, and LLM memory, it focuses on local embedded vector retrieval.
