toolroster: Local CLI to Inventory All MCP Servers
Grouchy_Jellyfish667 · reddit · 2026-07-06
A developer released toolroster, a fully local CLI. With a single command (npx toolroster), it inventories all configured MCP servers and agent skills across editors like Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, VS Code, and Codex (covering global and project levels across Win/mac/Linux). It only reads config files without starting servers, uses plain language to annotate accessible resources (files/shell/network) for each server, and saves timestamped lists under ./reports/ for easy diffing. It also performs lightweight checks for risks like plaintext API keys or unpinned git branches. 100% local, offline, and requires no registration.
