White House Begins Case-by-Case Approvals for Frontier AI Access

Peter Diamandis stated that the White House is currently deciding access to frontier AI models on a "customer-by-customer" basis. He noted that this is the first time in U.S. history that the government has directly intervened in the release process of AI models, meaning the government is now in the "decision loop" for AI releases. This reflects that the deployment and external provision of frontier AI are now facing more direct government regulatory scrutiny.
