Building readside/dev: A Personal Tech Reading Assistant via Claude Code

Greg Kamradt notes that as the cost of building apps drops, he prefers creating tools for himself rather than for others. His latest project is readside/dev: a tech article reader similar to ElevenLabs Reader, but featuring a sidebar that lets you highlight text like in Google Docs and chat with Claude Code to tackle dense technical articles.
Implemented features include selecting any snippet to ask Claude Code questions, saving highlights, reading articles aloud (which he uses while driving), and using LLMs to remove fluff for better readability. Overall, it serves as a practical example of a "personal tool + AI coding assistant" workflow.
