A Harvard Medical School team published a paper in Nature Medicine introducing COMPASS, a pan-cancer foundation model that predicts immune checkpoint inhibitor responses by analyzing tumor transcriptomes. While about a quarter of advanced cancer patients derive lasting benefits from immunotherapy, existing tools (like TMB and PD-L1 staining) lack reliability across different cancer types.
