Samsung Researcher Uses 7M Parameter Model for Recursive Reasoning

Alexia Jolicoeur-Martineau, a Senior Researcher at Samsung SAIT Montreal, published a paper last October titled "Less is More: Recursive Reasoning with Tiny Networks". While major players like OpenAI and Google aggressively scale up compute and parameters, she built a model with only about 7 million parameters (less than 0.01% of mainstream LLMs) to perform tasks via recursive reasoning. The post has sparked widespread interest in this contrarian approach of combining small models with recursive reasoning.
