Nitto Boseki Controls 90% of T-glass, Straining AI Server Supply Chain
tengyanAI · x · 2026-07-03
Nitto Boseki controls about 90% of the global T-glass (specialty fiberglass) supply, and this critical bottleneck is tightening further. High-end copper-clad laminates (CCL) for AI servers rely heavily on this specialty fiberglass; any material shortage will back up the entire substrate supply chain, while new capacity takes up to 30 months to deliver.
Mid-chain suppliers Doosan and ITEQ see their profit margins fluctuate with fiberglass availability. Downstream, Co-Tech’s HVLP copper foil business is also affected by the same crunch, meaning the pressure will transmit further down from the CCL layer.
