MiniMax (MiniMax 海螺) listed "大模型算法工程师-Midtrain Agentic数据方向" (LLM algorithm engineer, mid-training agentic data).
Government and international reach: OpenAI posted "Applied AI Architect, OpenAI for Government" in Munich and London. Google DeepMind posted two Applied AI roles in Singapore, and Apple AIML posted two roles in Beijing and one in Singapore.
Net contraction overall: The 32 companies tracked added 44 roles and closed 57. ByteDance Doubao/Seed (字节跳动豆包/Seed) closed 10 and OpenAI closed 9.

Company moves

OpenAI added 4 and closed 9. The new roles are "Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) - AI Infra - SF", the data center electrical design role, the government architect role in Europe, and "Data Scientist, Personalization & Machine Learning". Together they point to customer-facing infrastructure deployment, physical build-out, and public-sector sales in Europe.

Anthropic added 2 and closed 3. One is "Research Scientist, Life Sciences (Computational Chemistry)" in AI Research & Engineering. The other is "Account Executive, Nonprofit" in Sales, based in San Francisco and New York. This suggests a scientific-domain push alongside a new sales segment.

Google DeepMind (谷歌 DeepMind) added 7 and closed 2. The roles are:

The Gemini post-training and subagents role stands out, and the finance expert role looks like domain-specific evaluation work.

Meta AI added 7 and closed 3. Besides the internships above, it posted an "Applied Research Scientist" role spread across five US locations and "Research Scientist Intern, Generative AI (PhD) (multiple locations)" in Zurich and London.

Apple AIML (苹果 AIML) added 6 and closed 5. The roles are "AIML - ML Researcher, AFM" in Cupertino, "Sr. Software Engineer, Generative Experiences", "Machine Learning and AI Safety Research Intern" in Beijing, "Siri Quality Engineer" in Beijing, "Apple Media Products - Machine Learning Engineering Manager" in Singapore, and "Product Manager, AI/ML - Apple Ads, Marketplace". The mix covers foundation models, Siri quality and applied ML in products.

SpaceXAI added 6 and closed 1. All six are Human Data roles titled "AI Tutor" for individual languages: Uzbek, Oromo, Latvian, Icelandic, Estonian and Amharic. All are remote and international. This looks like multilingual data collection, mostly for lower-resource languages.

NVIDIA (英伟达) added 2 and closed 6. They are "Structured Data Foundation Model Engineer, Modern Data Stack" and "GenAI Algorithms Intern – Model Optimization for Inference" in Zurich.

Perplexity added 1, "Member of Technical Staff (AI Software Engineer, Agent Engine)". Cursor added "Startups Growth, VC Partnerships" in Marketing. Cohere added "Revenue Operations Intern (Winter, 2027)". Together AI added "Technical Writer Intern, Developer Experience (Summer 2027)" and "Director, Debt Capital Markets", a finance hire that suggests financing infrastructure.

Baidu AI added 3 and closed 1. Besides the two algorithm roles above, it listed "汽车云解决方案架构师（J106854）" (automotive cloud solutions architect) in the ACG department.

MiniMax added 2 and closed 3. The second role is "10x Team Intern (Legal)" in Shanghai.

Microsoft AI, Mistral AI, Pika Labs, Aleph Alpha and Genmo had no additions or closures. Lovable, Scale AI, Cerebras, Moonshot AI (月之暗面 Kimi) and several other China-based labs had no additions today. Scale AI closed 4 roles and ByteDance Doubao/Seed closed 10. In China, DeepSeek (深度求索), Zhipu AI (智谱 AI), StepFun (阶跃星辰), ModelBest (面壁智能), Tencent Hunyuan (腾讯混元), 01.AI (零一万物), SenseTime SenseNova (商汤日日新) and Alibaba Tongyi Qwen (阿里通义千问) added nothing today. Meituan LongCat (美团·龙猫) closed 1 role and added none.

What it signals

The 7-day figures show hiring is concentrated at a few companies. Meta AI added 82 roles against 282 open, which is a very high rate relative to its size. Anthropic added 51 on 681 open, OpenAI 44 on 790, and Google DeepMind 37 on 130. DeepMind's rate is the steepest of the large labs, though its open count is much smaller. Across the global companies the 7-day additions total 341, spread unevenly: Microsoft AI and Mistral AI show zero, and Scale AI and Cerebras show only a handful.

Today's Meta list reads as research-led and intern-heavy, and it spans robotics, wearables, computational photography and battery cells. That could mean the lab is widening toward devices and physical-world AI, but the sample is a single day of mostly internships, so the inference is tentative. OpenAI's electrical design role and Together AI's debt capital markets director point at a different constraint: physical capacity and the money to pay for it. Both are small samples.

The Chinese labs are quieter in aggregate. Their 7-day additions total 53 across the 13 tracked, against 341 for the 19 global companies. Open counts are large in places, with ByteDance Doubao/Seed at 870, Baidu AI at 489 and StepFun at 297. ByteDance Doubao/Seed added 12 over 7 days while closing 10 today, so its large stock of roles is turning over slowly. Where Chinese labs did add, the role titles lean toward applied directions: multimodal generation, video agents and agentic data for mid-training.

The overall pattern is mixed. The day was net-negative at 44 additions against 57 closures, so there is no sign of a broad hiring surge. The expansion signals are specific: agents, multimodal work, government and international sales, and data center and hardware capacity.
