32 frontier AI labs · 2 roles added in 24h · agihunt.info/en/jobs

Today at a glance

  • A very quiet day for additions: Across the 32 companies tracked, only Anthropic added roles, 2 in total. The other 31 added none. Closures were 25 (OpenAI 1, Anthropic 2, NVIDIA 2, ByteDance Doubao/Seed 20), so the day was net negative.
  • Compute capacity at Anthropic: "Principal Engineer Capacity/Compute" in Software Engineering - Infrastructure, San Francisco, CA. It is a senior hire for the layer that allocates and plans compute.
  • International sales in Asia: Anthropic also listed "Manager, Account Executive" in Sales, located in Tokyo, Japan. It is a management-level sales role, not an individual-contributor one.
  • A closure round at ByteDance: ByteDance Doubao/Seed (字节跳动豆包/Seed) closed 20 roles and added none. That is the largest single-day closure in the data. It still has 862 open, the most of any company tracked.

Company moves

Anthropic added 2 roles, closed 2, and has 655 open. The two new titles are "Principal Engineer Capacity/Compute" (San Francisco, CA) and "Manager, Account Executive" (Tokyo, Japan). One is a deep infrastructure role. The other is a commercial role for a market outside the US. Both closures offset the additions, so the open count is unchanged on the day.

ByteDance Doubao/Seed closed 20 roles with no additions, leaving 862 open. The data does not say which roles closed or why. Closures like this often mean positions were filled, or that a batch of postings was cleaned up. Its 7-day additions are 22, so this is a drawdown from a steady pace and not a stop.

OpenAI closed 1 role and added none, leaving 813 open. NVIDIA closed 2 and added none, leaving 560 open. Neither had new roles to report.

The other 28 companies showed no change in either direction today.

What it signals

The 7-day figures give a clearer picture than today's near-empty feed. Across the 32 companies, 387 roles were added over the week: 262 at the 19 global companies and 125 at the 13 China-based companies. The pace is concentrated. OpenAI (52), Anthropic (44) and NVIDIA (44) together account for 140 of the 262 global additions. Meta AI (34) and Google DeepMind (31) follow. Microsoft AI and Mistral AI added nothing in seven days, even though Microsoft AI has 622 open and Mistral 168. Those are large backlogs of open roles that have not moved.

Among the Chinese labs, hiring is even more concentrated. StepFun (阶跃星辰) added 58 roles in seven days, the highest 7-day figure of any company in the data, taking it to 297 open. Baidu AI (百度 AI) added 30 and ByteDance Doubao/Seed added 22. Together those three account for 110 of the 125 Chinese additions. Most of the rest are very small: Moonshot AI (月之暗面 Kimi), DeepSeek (深度求索) and Tencent Hunyuan (腾讯混元) each added 1, while Zhipu AI (智谱 AI), Meituan LongCat (美团·龙猫), SenseTime SenseNova (商汤日日新) and Alibaba Tongyi Qwen (阿里通义千问) added none. A few labs are growing fast and many are holding still, which is a different picture from broad-based expansion.

Today's two Anthropic roles fit a pattern that is easy to over-read from two data points. One sits in the infrastructure group and concerns compute capacity. The other extends sales management into Japan. Together they suggest Anthropic is working on both the supply of compute and the demand side in new regions. That is consistent with its 44 additions this week, but the data cannot show whether the Tokyo role is part of a wider Asia build-out.

The smaller companies add little at this scale. Cursor added 3 roles over seven days, Cerebras 4, Cohere 6, Together AI 8 and Scale AI 7. These are small movements in absolute terms, and one quiet day does not tell us whether they are slowing or just between postings. The honest reading is that today was a low-activity day, and the weekly totals are a better guide to where hiring is concentrated than any single day's feed.
