32 frontier AI labs · 54 roles added in 24h · agihunt.info/en/jobs

Today at a glance

  • Codex's European sales push continues: OpenAI posted three identical "Applied AI Engineer, Startups (Codex)" roles today — in London, Paris, and Munich — alongside a B2B Comms Lead, EMEA and an Account Director, Government in London, extending its coding-agent go-to-market push into a broader EMEA sales and public-sector effort.
  • Trust & safety hardens at two labs: Anthropic opened two Staff+ engineering roles under Safeguards (Access Programs, Account Creation) plus an Incident Response Manager - Privacy, while Google DeepMind added a Research Scientist, Gemini Agent Safety, DeepMind and a Software Engineer, Anti-distillation Investigations, Enforcements and Infrastructure, DeepMind — both labs reinforcing defenses around model access and model IP.
  • Meta doubles down on hardware: five of Meta AI's seven new roles today sit in hardware and infrastructure — Hardware Engineer, Hardware Thermal Engineer, Lab Engineer, Hardware Infrastructure, and a CV/ML Systems Engineer, Hardware Architecture inside its Facebook Reality Labs group — pointing at continued investment in physical AI and AR/VR compute.
  • Robotics and silicon interest surface in China: ByteDance's Doubao/Seed team added three robotics roles — 机器人仿真工程师(物理引擎方向) (robot simulation engineer, physics-engine track), 机器人模型评测工程师(Seed Robotics) (robot model evaluation engineer, Seed Robotics), and 机器人应用开发工程师 (robot application engineer) — while MiniMax posted an AI芯片设计实习生 (AI chip design intern), a rare custom-silicon signal among the Chinese labs tracked here.
  • A net-negative day: across the 32 labs tracked, 54 roles opened but 62 closed in the last 24 hours; Microsoft AI and SpaceXAI both went quiet on new postings even while carrying two of the largest active rosters (622 and 273 open roles respectively).

Company moves

OpenAI added 9 and closed 12 today (68 over 7 days). Beyond the Codex/Europe cluster, it opened a Growth - Lifecycle Lead (B2B) and a Senior Technical Recruiter, Engineering Leadership — business development and recruiting capacity building in parallel with the EMEA sales push.

Anthropic added 8 and closed 12 (55 over 7 days). Alongside the Safeguards hires, it opened an APAC Recruiting Coordinator and a Customer Success role in Singapore, plus a Partner Manager, Microsoft Co-sell — APAC footprint and channel partnerships advancing alongside trust-and-safety work.

Google DeepMind (谷歌 DeepMind) added 4 and closed 1 (22 over 7 days). New roles also include a Sustainability Research Engineer and a Generative Media Launches Technical Program Manager — safety, sustainability, and generative-media productization all represented in one small batch.

Meta AI added 7 and closed 5 (27 over 7 days). Its one non-hardware addition, Research Scientist, Machine Learning for Monetization (PhD), keeps ad/monetization research in the mix alongside the hardware build-out.

NVIDIA (英伟达) added 2 and closed 1 (32 over 7 days): a Senior System Software Engineer, Robotics and a PhD Research Intern, Quantum Simulation and AI — both sit outside its core GPU roadmap.

Apple AIML (苹果 AIML) added 4 and closed 5 (14 over 7 days), spanning strategic modeling, evaluation, Apple Pay marketing, and Watch software — ML applied across payments and wearables rather than concentrated in one product line.

Perplexity added 1 (10 over 7 days): a Member of Technical Staff (New Grad) — continued university recruiting.

Cursor added 1 (6 over 7 days): an AI Deployment Manager, Scale in Customer Success — enterprise deployment support.

Cohere added 5 (11 over 7 days), and all five sit in People Operations — Talent Partner, two Executive Assistant managers, and two Executive Assistant roles — organizational scaling rather than research hiring today.

Together AI added 1 (13 over 7 days): a Staff Software Engineer - AI Compute, Together Cloud — compute infrastructure.

Scale AI added 2 and closed 5 (5 over 7 days): a Staff Product Designer, Enterprise (London) and a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, with closures outpacing additions this week.

StepFun (阶跃星辰) added 3 and closed 2 (13 over 7 days): 增长运营 (growth operations), 创作者社区运营 (creator community operations), and 政府事务高级经理(网信/网安/党工团) (senior government affairs manager, cyberspace administration/security/party-union affairs) — growth and community roles paired with regulatory-affairs hiring.

Baidu AI (百度 AI) added 2 and closed 3 (18 over 7 days): 产品经理 (product manager) and 高级测试开发工程师 (senior test development engineer) — core product and QA hiring.

ByteDance Doubao/Seed (字节跳动豆包/Seed) added 4 and closed 8 (28 over 7 days). Beyond the robotics trio above, it added a C++开发工程师 - Seed (C++ engineer) — robotics investment continuing even as the broader req list contracts.

MiniMax (Hailuo, 海螺) added 1 (2 over 7 days): the AI chip design intern role noted above.

SpaceXAI, Cerebras, and Tencent Hunyuan (腾讯混元) saw closures only today — four, three, and one roles respectively — with no new postings, even though all three still carry meaningful 7-day gains (26, 7, and 10).

Microsoft AI, Mistral AI, Lovable, Pika Labs, Aleph Alpha, Genmo, Moonshot AI (月之暗面 Kimi), DeepSeek (深度求索), Zhipu AI (智谱 AI), ModelBest (面壁智能), Meituan LongCat (美团·龙猫), 01.AI (Yi) (零一万物), SenseTime SenseNova (商汤日日新), and Alibaba Tongyi Qwen (阿里通义千问) held steady with no additions or closures today.

What it signals

The 7-day figures still show Microsoft AI ahead of every other lab by volume — 171 net additions in a week in which it added or closed nothing today — followed by OpenAI (68) and Anthropic (55). No Chinese lab tracked here comes close: ByteDance's Doubao/Seed leads that group at 28 over 7 days, with Baidu at 18, StepFun at 13, and Moonshot AI and Tencent Hunyuan tied at 10. The scale gap between the largest US/global labs and the largest Chinese labs remains wide on this metric, even as several Chinese labs are clearly active in narrower ways.

Safety and hardware investment are running in parallel rather than trading off. Anthropic's Safeguards hires and DeepMind's agent-safety and anti-distillation postings show frontier labs adding dedicated technical headcount to defend model access and weights, while Meta's hardware-heavy day and NVIDIA's robotics/quantum roles show physical-infrastructure hiring proceeding on its own track. Nothing in this window suggests one is crowding out the other.

Among Chinese labs, the hiring pattern splits along two lines: embodied AI and model hardware (ByteDance's three robotics postings, MiniMax's AI chip design intern) versus growth, community, and regulatory-compliance functions (StepFun's operations and government-affairs roles, Baidu's product/QA hires). That split is a reasonable read of where these organizations sit in their build cycles — infrastructure investment at the model layer, plus the domestic-market and compliance functions that come with scaling a consumer or enterprise product in China.

Today's raw totals — 54 additions against 62 closures — read as a single soft day rather than a turn in direction: SpaceXAI, Cerebras, and Tencent Hunyuan closed roles without replacing them, and Microsoft AI simply posted nothing, but all three still carry positive 7-day net adds. The more durable flat signal is elsewhere: Mistral AI, Genmo, DeepSeek, Zhipu AI, and Alibaba Tongyi Qwen each show zero net change over the full 7-day window, a tighter and more meaningful stagnation than one quiet day for labs that are otherwise active.
