32 frontier AI labs · 114 roles added in 24h · agihunt.info/en/jobs
Today at a glance
- Hardware and silicon converge across the majors: OpenAI posted a Software Engineer, Silicon Design Methodology and an Android Systems Engineer, Consumer Devices; Google DeepMind added a Software Engineer, GenAI Silicon Automation plus two GeminiApp Devices product/UX roles; NVIDIA opened a Senior Manager, ASIC Chip Engineering; and Apple AIML added a Sr. Robotics AI Engineer and an On-Device ML Infrastructure Engineer — four labs building chip and device capacity on the same day.
- Microsoft's scale dwarfs the field: Microsoft AI added 44 roles and closed 45 in a single day, with 265 net additions over the past 7 days, including a Design Verification Engineer- Senior / Principal in Silicon Engineering, a Senior Quantum Characterization Engineer, and a Worldwide Government, Defense, & Intelligence Industry CTO — breadth spanning silicon, quantum and public-sector accounts.
- SpaceXAI keeps staffing its data-center build: three of SpaceXAI's eight new roles sit in Data Center Operations across Memphis and Southaven (Tennessee/Mississippi), plus a Network Engineer for the same region — infrastructure buildout rather than research hiring.
- Autonomous vehicles resurface at NVIDIA: alongside its chip roles, NVIDIA added a Vehicle Integration Engineer, Autonomous Vehicle Test Fleet in Seoul and a Senior Technical Program Manager - Autonomous Vehicles in Santa Clara.
- China's labs stay quiet while ByteDance pulls back: DeepSeek, Zhipu AI, Tencent Hunyuan and Alibaba Tongyi Qwen show zero net movement today, while ByteDance Doubao/Seed closed 15 roles against just 2 additions — the sharpest single-day contraction among the tracked companies.
Company moves

What it signals
Across the 32 companies this brief tracks, the 7-day numbers make the global/China split explicit: the 19 global-region labs added 546 roles over the past week, versus 69 across the 13 China-based labs — roughly an eight-to-one gap. Some of that is scale (Microsoft AI alone accounts for 265 of the global total), but even excluding Microsoft the global cohort still outpaces China's combined additions by a wide margin. Only three China labs — ModelBest (15), Baidu AI (21) and ByteDance (9) — show double-digit or near-double-digit 7-day movement; DeepSeek, Zhipu AI, Tencent Hunyuan and Alibaba Tongyi Qwen have posted nothing at all in that window.
The clearest cross-company theme in the global cohort is a simultaneous lean into silicon and physical products. NVIDIA's 47 additions over 7 days include both ASIC chip management and autonomous-vehicle program roles; Apple AIML's 16 include a robotics AI engineer and an on-device ML infrastructure role; Google DeepMind's 27 pair a GenAI Silicon Automation engineer with GeminiApp Devices product and UX hires; and OpenAI's 73 include a silicon design methodology engineer alongside Android systems and consumer-device-safety roles. None of this is one company's isolated bet — it is four labs, on the same day, hiring for the same category of work, which reads as the field treating custom silicon and first-party hardware as a shared near-term priority rather than a side project.
A second pattern sits in commercialization and reach. OpenAI's and Cursor's new roles skew heavily toward enterprise sales and regional expansion — Account Directors in Delhi, Sydney, Stockholm and London for OpenAI, Regional VPs and an India team build-out for Cursor — while Cohere added a Global Public Policy Manager for sovereign AI alongside an agents-focused applied AI engineer. On the China side, ModelBest's new roles are investment- and industry-partnership-facing rather than technical, and MiniMax's Video Generation Open-Source Ecosystem Lead role was posted across six cities spanning three continents at once, suggesting a deliberate push to build an international open-source community around its video model rather than a purely domestic hire.
The closures tell their own story. Anthropic (2 added vs. 11 closed) and Lovable (0 added vs. 4 closed) both show closures well ahead of additions today after visible 7-day build-outs (24 and 13 respectively), which reads as a pause rather than a retreat. ByteDance's 15 closures against 2 additions is a different case — its 7-day addition total of 9 is already modest, so today's gap widens an existing contraction rather than interrupting a growth streak. Microsoft AI's near-even 44/45 split is simply volume: at nearly three hundred net additions a week, some churn in postings is expected and doesn't read as a directional signal the way the other two do.
