UK launches national AI Biosecurity Lab with backing from DeepMind, OpenAI and Anthropic
The UK has launched a national AI biosecurity programme including the world's first AI Biosecurity Lab, with government funding of £100 million and additional £100 million each from OpenAI and Anthropic, plus support from Google DeepMind, to detect biological threats and rapidly develop medical countermeasures.
