MacPaw Launches Proactive AI Assistant Eney on Mac and iPhone

On October 15, MacPaw, the maker of CleanMyMac, officially launched Eney, a proactive AI assistant available on both Mac and iPhone. It is free on the App Store, currently at version 1.0.1.

Confirmed

• Eney is positioned as a "proactive" assistant: rather than passively waiting for questions, it reads your email, calendar, and connected apps, and surfaces items that need attention—unanswered emails, calls or meetings you haven't prepared for, a cluttered Downloads folder—while prepping the next steps in advance
• Users can start from ready-made workflows; features include Q&A, drafting and sending emails, scheduling, web search, translation, and text polishing, all within a single conversation
• Eney asks for user confirmation before taking any action
• @JaynitMakwana reviewed it and said they'd swap Siri for Eney

Why it matters

• Eney embodies a product shift from Q&A-style assistants toward ones that anticipate and prepare actions, in direct contrast to traditional voice assistants like Siri; its cross-device Mac–iPhone integration also makes it a promising third-party assistant option within the Apple ecosystem
