Blogger Shares 10 Prompt Templates for Editing Video Directly in Gemini

On October 9, blogger ifioknkem published a thread compiling a set of prompt templates for editing videos directly with Google Gemini, claiming they cover common CapCut-style editing needs across roughly 10 operations.

Confirmed

• Operations covered in the series include: outfit changes (altering a person's clothing while keeping face, body shape, pose, and motion intact, with the clothing moving naturally and matching the original video's lighting), background replacement (swapping the scene while locking onto the subject, requiring matched lighting, shadows, and camera position, and explicitly leaving key details like face, clothing, and motion untouched), object removal (filling the surrounding background naturally after removing a target object, demonstrated by removing a water bottle from a table), object replacement (e.g., swapping a plastic cup for a new object), and camera angle changes (such as recreating the scene as a low-angle hero shot, adjusting lighting, shadows, and background perspective to fit the new angle).
• The templates share a common pattern: "change the target element + keep the subject, lighting, and camera motion unchanged," ensuring clean and realistic edits.

Why it matters

• If these prompts actually work, ordinary users could accomplish in a single sentence what previously required multi-step workflows in tools like CapCut, dramatically lowering the barrier to video editing. Note, however, that these are the blogger's personal demos and claims—the results have not been independently verified.
