Google Open-Sources MAPL-EMIT for AI Methane Leak Detection from Space

Google, together with NASA JPL, released the open-source MAPL-EMIT deep learning framework, published in PNAS. Built on Vision Transformers, it automatically detects and quantifies methane plumes from satellite data with 84% accuracy.
