Tau Robotics Launches Remote-Controlled Home Robot Cleaning at $30/hr

US startup Tau Robotics has launched a humanoid robot cleaning service for home settings, priced at $30 per hour. The robot can perform basic chores like washing hands, mopping, and picking up trash in demos, but its actual operation relies entirely on human teleoperation, not fully autonomous AI. The company adopts a "remote-first, data-collection" strategy, offering a pragmatic path for commercial deployment and real-world data accumulation before embodied AI matures.
