Granola Launches Apple Watch App for On-the-Go Meeting Transcription
Granola, an AI meeting note-taking tool, has officially launched its Apple Watch app, extending transcription and summarization capabilities to the wrist. Users can start and stop recording with a tap on their watch, and notes sync instantly to other devices. The app focuses on recording and summarizing one-on-one conversations in person, suitable for scenarios like walking meetings, whiteboard brainstorming, or coffee chats, without needing a phone or laptop. It can be added to the watch face for quick access, shows upcoming meeting reminders, and integrates with the existing iOS app.

- Users can start meeting transcription directly on Apple Watch by tapping their wrist, and stop with another tap, without needing a phone or computer.
- The app is designed for recording and summarizing in-person one-on-one conversations, ideal for mobile scenarios like walking, running, or whiteboard sessions.
- The watch app can be added to the watch face for instant launch, displays upcoming meeting reminders, and syncs with the iOS app.
Unconfirmed
- According to an internal signal shared by @soleio, the team's note-taking volume via Apple Watch in face-to-face meetings has surpassed that of iPhone. This data is currently an internal signal without specific statistical reports.
Why it matters
- This update breaks the hardware limitation of relying on a computer or phone for meeting notes. @HaktanSuren and @DeryaTR note that it enables easy meeting minutes for 'walk-and-talk' scenarios, significantly expanding the practical boundaries of AI-powered portable recording.
- @kleffew94 points out that the product launch highlights a growing reality: everyday conversations are increasingly being continuously transcribed, permanently stored, and made searchable, inevitably sparking social and privacy debates about wearable recording devices.
