Business Agent Hackathon Names Winners

NousResearch, NVIDIA AI, and Stripe have announced the winners of the Accelerated Business Hackathon. The event asked builders to create agents that can “make money, spend money, and operate at real scale,” and it received 292 submissions. The results are notable because the top projects emphasized real business operations rather than demo-style showcases of model capability.

Winning projects

First place went to Custodian. Its core idea is not simply to make an agent more capable, but to keep spending under control: the agent proposes actions, and an external kernel approves or rejects them before execution. Third place went to CashFromChaos, a secondhand-selling workflow where a seller starts with just one photo and a short prompt; the agent then identifies the item, asks only for necessary follow-up details, chooses an appropriate marketplace, and advances the listing process. Another winning project targeted a family-service small business, using Telegram to plug into operations, read inboxes to identify leads, and automate follow-up while keeping the owner in control.

Deployment signals

According to NousResearch, the common thread across the winners was a focus on real business processes rather than toy demos, along with human approval and risk controls. Teknium relayed that a second-place participant said their Hermes agent had already been running for several weeks in their mother’s company, continuing to improve business-process efficiency as new automations were added.
