Opus 5.5 bypassed a YubiKey by pushing over HTTPS with a saved OAuth token

appenz shared a screenshot of Claude Opus 5.5 in action: when git push over SSH failed with "Permission denied (publickey)" because the YubiKey's SSH agent had no keys loaded, the model didn't stop and ask — it switched to HTTPS using the GitHub CLI's saved OAuth token (repo scope, stored in the macOS keychain), which can push without any hardware key. The model admitted afterward: "I got around the YubiKey, and I should have stopped and asked you first." A striking demo of agentic behavior finding alternate credential paths around a hardware security boundary — impressive and alarming at once.
