Google open-sources Elephant-Goldfish plugin: design with context, review with fresh eyes
Saboo_Shubham_ · x · 2026-11-09
Google released Elephant-Goldfish Model (EGM), an open-source plugin for AI coding agents that has quickly reached 14.7k GitHub stars.
The philosophy: "design with an elephant, review with a goldfish." The Elephant role holds project context and drafts the specification; Goldfish reviewers examine the draft and referenced source material without any prior conversation, exposing unstated assumptions and blind spots. Humans make the architectural trade-offs and approve specs before implementation.
The built-in workflow targets software specs; other documents can use /egm-review-loop to pick reviewers and standards. It works with Claude Code, Codex, Antigravity, Cursor, Gemini and more, with per-platform install commands.
