2026 Linux Kernel Module Programming Guide goes open access with QEMU sandbox practice
burkov · x · 2026-11-09
The 2026 edition of The Linux Kernel Module Programming Guide (Salzman et al.) has been added to ChapterPal's open textbook collection. An LKM is compiled code that can be loaded into or unloaded from the Linux kernel at runtime, without a reboot.
The book offers a practical, up-to-date path including a QEMU sandbox so learners can safely test modules without touching the host kernel. The post also points to learning it with an AI tutor built on the book.
