Neurospectrum links OCD to sharper turns in brain latent trajectories on fMRI
Pseudomanifold · x · 2026-11-09
In the Neurospectrum thread (13/n), resting-state fMRI before vs. after a decision-making task showed latent trajectories with more frequent, localized sharp turns after the task; the curvature increase was significantly greater in unmedicated OCD patients than healthy controls, especially in males (difference p=0.0449; females p=0.235). Learned attention highlighted the postcentral gyrus and putamen in females and the superior frontal sulcus in males — regions previously implicated in OCD.
