Security pro slams stale 'patch and unplug' advice in the era of AI cyber superweapons
HankYeomans · x · 2026-11-09
Security practitioner IceSolst argues that while AI capabilities are surging exponentially and "cyber superweapons" already exist, mainstream security advice remains stuck on tepid takes—anti-phishing, don't put it on the internet, patch the CVE—that didn't even work 20 years ago. Real defenses should include secure-by-design architecture, bounded identities, automated reviews, auto-generated and vetted patches, continuously tuned alerting, and ongoing threat modeling.
