Local LLM manager fix: concurrent requests from one session yield 2-3X speedup
draginol · x · 2026-11-09
Developer draginol reports that local AI managers focus on decode and prefill speed but assume single-stream use — like running DOS on a powerful CPU. By sending multiple simultaneous requests from one session, even on low-memory-bandwidth systems, he measured 2-3X performance gains. Most workloads can't be threaded this way, but much agentic work (tool calls, searches) can. He's still validating to avoid synthetic-benchmark artifacts.
