book-to-skill: an open-source pipeline that turns any book into an agent skill
adnan_hashmi · x · 2026-11-08
An open-source project, book-to-skill, converts books into executable agent skills. A FastAPI backend handles a browser SPA via REST/JSON; phase 1 runs extract.py (subprocess) to read input/ and emit full text + metadata.json; phase 2's skillgenerator.py calls an LLM (Ollama / llama.cpp / any OpenAI-compatible endpoint) via chat completions to write a SKILL.md with chapters, glossary, and patterns cheatsheet to output/skill/. Fully local-capable and reproducible.
