Researchers propose centralized AI peer review over reviewers using LLMs ad hoc
JessicaHullman · x · 2026-11-08
Jessica Hullman argues it's pointless to let reviewers use AI however they like, since authors already check work with AI before submitting. Bans would mainly threaten peer review's role as a soundness filter — better addressed by venues running centralized, validated AI checks, with reviewers adding the human complement of deciding what deserves attention. Seth Lazar endorses the view.
