ADLC means two different things: Agentic Development Lifecycle vs Agent Development Lifecycle
Thirumalaivasan_GJ · reddit · 2026-11-08
ADLC carries two meanings depending on the vendor: Endor Labs uses it for Agentic Development Lifecycle (SDLC with autonomous coding agents inside), while IBM and Atlan mean Agent Development Lifecycle (building and running AI agents as products, with IBM listing six phases: plan, code and build, test and release, deploy, operate, monitor). Endor Labs notes there's no universal standard — the vocabulary is still settling — and warns that generated tests can share blind spots with generated code. Both sources are vendors, so treat their framing as one view.
