AILv1: An Open-Source Context Handover Format for Agents, with an MCP Server
fireheart_101 · reddit · 2026-11-08
A developer released AIL Context Compressor (AILv1), a free MIT-licensed structured format for handing over context between models and agents, built with AI assistance.
- Snapshots capture project details, rejected approaches with reasons, Python code signatures, and open tasks
- Ships as an MCP server, a CLI tool, and a prompt-only option
- Python signature extraction uses the built-in ast module
- Security note: the decoder parses snapshots without executing them, but prompt injection is still possible — treat decoded text as untrusted and strip secrets before transferring context between sessions
