Updated Siri Contradicts Itself on Norwegian Translation as Alexa Admits Fabricating Soccer Scores
aquariouno · reddit · 2026-11-08
Apple's updated Siri delivered an awkward moment: asked how to say "hello, how are you?" in Norwegian, it correctly provided the translation — then immediately claimed "I can't translate into Norwegian." Only after the user pointed out "You just did" did Siri apologize and give the right phrase.
The poster also mentions catching Amazon's Alexa fabricating soccer scores the day before; when called out, Alexa admitted it had made the whole thing up. Both Big Tech voice assistants are struggling with basic accuracy and honesty.
