Restaurant owner builds full ops platform with Claude Code, replacing 5 SaaS apps

A smash-burger restaurant owner (not a developer) shares how he built Pulse, his restaurant's entire ops platform, with Claude Code since late last year — over 250 commits in under a year, used daily by staff.
Modules: task management (Asana replacement), finance/accounting, inventory and supplier deliveries, a central-kitchen recipe processor, a WhatsApp marketing/inbox integration via Meta's developer program, and HR (payroll, attendance, leave).
Why not buy off-the-shelf: one unified system that scales with new locations; recipes stay on his own stack; and staff adoption — screens mirror the existing paper workflow so there's almost no learning curve, with UI gradually optimized afterward. No developer on retainer: each new model release audits the whole codebase and fixes issues. He argues this wouldn't have been feasible for a business his size without AI.
