YouTube hits ~14% of US TV viewing, overtaking Disney and Netflix
devdigest · x · 2026-11-08
Per Nielsen data charted by WSJ, YouTube now accounts for about 14% of all US TV viewing time, up from roughly 9% at the end of 2023 — ahead of every traditional media giant including Disney, NBCUniversal and Fox, and well ahead of Netflix at about 8%.
The chart shows YouTube's share climbing steadily since 2024 while legacy distributors mostly decline or stagnate; Amazon is growing but from a much smaller base.
YouTube is now America's most-watched TV distributor, and the gap is widening.
