Fan Remake of Ultima Online in MiniMax H3: 6 Minutes, 72 Shots, One 24GB GPU
Remarkable_Park1184 · reddit · 2026-11-08
A creator produced a 6-minute Ultima Online fan film using open-weights MiniMax H3 in ComfyUI on a single RTX PRO 4000 Blackwell (24GB): 72 shots at 1344x768@24fps, with a 56-frame shot rendering in 4.5 min and 243 frames in 43 min.
Pipeline details
- Character/set reference cards: Gemini (Nano Banana)—the only closed tool; fixes with local Qwen-Image-Edit.
- Main shots: H3 reference-to-video fed with character card + set card + voice clip.
- Voices: timbre references cut from earlier H3 takes, keeping one voice per character across shots.
- Bridges/fixes: H3 first+last-frame i2v (e.g. regenerating frames 107-160 where a passer-by high-fived a ghost).
- Draft shots at 672x384 first, then HD; music/SFX/font extracted from the UO client via UOFiddler; overhead text keyframed in CapCut; Claude helped write prompts and QC/edit scripts.
Non-commercial fan film; music and assets © Electronic Arts.
