Kept: open-source MCP server turns Claude or ChatGPT into a household bookkeeper
np25071984 · reddit · 2026-11-08
A developer released Kept, an open-source (AGPL-3.0) MCP server that logs household expenses from any chat: tell Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini "$85 at Walmart" or drop a receipt photo, order email, or bank statement screenshot. The assistant proposes a best guess and waits for confirmation, learns rules you teach it ("Costco is always groceries"), auto-logs recurring bills and asks when an expected charge is missing. Households share categories and totals while each member's purchases stay private; no bank access ever. Free, self-hostable, with a web app for reports.
