TSMC reportedly weighing in-house 3D DRAM production at Nvidia's request
mark_k · x · 2026-11-08
Per The Information, TSMC is drawing up plans to make advanced memory chips itself at Nvidia's request, led by Hsu Kuo-chin, the executive overseeing advanced packaging. It could build new fabs or convert an existing one; nothing is decided yet. TSMC already makes Nvidia's processors — moving into memory would expand its role in the AI hardware supply chain, where securing memory matters as much as securing compute.
