The trading agent's rules: fire only when P/C ≥1.20 and SPY above 200-day SMA
jeffgrimes9 · x · 2026-11-08
The author details the automation behind the Perplexity trading agent.
- Trigger: hourly on weekdays, reads SPY's put/call ratio, 10-day average and 200-day SMA from Robinhood scanner datapoints; fires only when P/C is at or above both 1.20 and its 10-day average, with SPY above its 200-day SMA
- Order leg: walks the chain to the expiry closest to 7 days out, picks the lowest strike asking ≤$0.05, then places a $0.05 limit order
The rules turn a vague "buy when P/C spikes" instruction into an auditable execution pipeline.
