Dreamscroll: open-source tool strips X and Instagram down to no doom scroll
ethanniser · x · 2026-11-08
Developer ethanniser open-sourced Dreamscroll (MIT license), a tool for using X and Instagram without the doom scroll: you get just what you came for — messages, notifications, saved posts, people and posts you look up — plus the best of your feed, with no endless timeline.
- The rationale: X is genuinely valuable for news and ideas, but infinite feeds quietly eat hours; the top of your feed is the best of it, so keeping that preserves 99% of the value.
- The repo includes a browser extension, an iOS app, and a sync service, plus AGENTS.md and CLAUDE.md files, indicating the project was built with AI coding agents.
