SynTalk Converts Sign Language to Speech with Glove Sensors, Vision and Persistent Memory
garvgoel05 · reddit · 2026-11-07
Developer Garv Goel built SynTalk, a sign-language communication system combining wearable hardware, computer vision and ML to turn gestures into text and speech. Key engineering: MediaPipe hand landmarks and flex-sensor glove readings represent the same gesture with completely different data structures, so feature extraction and classifiers stay separate behind a shared interface. Hindsight serves as a persistent memory layer for cross-session context. Open-sourced on GitHub with a detailed writeup.
