SteerCamp adds budget mode: run Claude Opus/Sonnet slower instead of downgrading models
pramodk73 · x · 2026-11-07
Developer @pramodk73 argues Anthropic's Sonnet/Opus models are powerful but too costly, and switching to cheaper models sacrifices too much intelligence. His alternative: keep the flagship models but let them take more time. He added a budget setting to his tool SteerCamp — set a budget and it naturally pauses and resumes tasks to stay within it. It's a third path between paying full price for premium models and downgrading to cheaper ones.
