Developer @Be4 is building AntiWebUI, a Markdown editor in Rust + wgpu claiming to be the fastest and lightest around. Benchmarks opening a 214 KB Markdown file (tables, code, 4 diagrams):
- AntiWebUI: 0.70–0.78s to show, 175–182 MB memory, 1 process
- Typora (Electron): 0.98–1.62s, 688–743 MB, 7–8 processes
- VS Code preview (Electron): 2.71–2.78s, 1298–1338 MB
- Obsidian (Electron): 3.08–3.36s, 676–677 MB
- MarkText (Electron): 6.52–6.65s, 779–782 MB
A GPUI comparison is promised next. Tested at 120 fps on Ryzen AI 9 365 with Radeon 880M.
