Perplexity launches Teammates, always-on work agents requiring its $200/month Max plan

Perplexity has launched Teammates, its take on always-on AI agents for work, going head-to-head with OpenAI's Dots and Claude Duet. Each Teammate can take on different roles and run multiple tasks simultaneously 24/7, building on Perplexity Computer while pulling existing projects, skills, and memory from your Perplexity tools. Progress is tracked in individual threads, and Teammates also work in Slack. CEO Aravind Srinivas envisions "every org having hundreds of teammates working for each person." The catch: it requires Perplexity's $200/month Max subscription, making it pricier than rivals.
