Tip: Switch Claude Code to Concise output style for shorter, direct responses
addyosmani · x · 2026-11-07
Addy Osmani shares a quick Claude Code tip: switching the output style to Concise yields short, straight-to-the-point results instead of verbose explanations.
Two ways to enable it:
- Run /config in Claude Code and set Output style to Concise
- Or add "outputStyle": "Concise" directly to your settings.json
You can still ask for full details on demand, so brevity doesn't cost you depth.
