First Waymo ride: stuck after 30 seconds, needed remote human help—then it felt normal
lucasmeijer · x · 2026-11-07
Developer lucasmeijer shared his first Waymo ride: just 30 seconds in, the car got stuck behind a non-moving vehicle and needed a remote human operator to intervene. The rest of the trip was amazing, he said—it felt normal surprisingly quickly, and he loved being able to blast his own music, finding it nicer than riding with a human driver.
