According to supply-chain leaks (FundaAI), SpaceX has ordered 6,000 space-specific racks from a leading server ODM for space-based data centers, with NPI due May 2027 and production wrapping in December — about 1.05GW total.
Key numbers:
- The 6,000 racks equal roughly 432,000 GPUs, or $42–45B in hardware value at terrestrial rack pricing; one rack per satellite.
- Lifetime volume is 30,000 racks, matching a first phase of 30,000 satellites and 2.16M GPUs at 72 per rack — 5.25GW (7.5GW peak).
- The first 6,000 racks are one-fifth of that plan.
