Several fired OpenAI employees (including jasminewang and Tomek Korbak) shared that members of Congress led by Rep. Casar have asked OpenAI why they were fired and raised multiple safety concerns. The letter specifically flags that the firings raise questions about how much OpenAI employees can engage with external parties, including those conducting independent investigations of the company's practices. The employees say they are curious to hear OpenAI's answer.
