OpenAI has raised another $11 billion in a new funding round that values the company at $1.25 trillion, per Bloomberg — making it one of the world's most valuable companies. It raised $12.2 billion in March at an $852 billion valuation.
The report says OpenAI is still pursuing additional investments that could push the total to $20 billion. It had initially hoped to raise up to $30 billion at a $1.4 trillion valuation before tech stocks dropped. Meanwhile, rival Anthropic is nearing its IPO.
