Used A100s could drop to $1,000 as GPU demand shows signs of slackening
Bascilian · reddit · 2026-11-07
A Reddit roundup of GPU price softness: Microcenter cut the RTX 6000 MaxQ workstation card to $16.5k (previously $14k/month), and Dell discounts saw some buyers get cards for $11.5k.
More telling, a contact in the decommissioned-hardware business reports seeing tons of A100s being dumped, and predicts used A100 40GB units will fall below $1,000 per card for single purchases within 3-6 months.
The author speculates that higher electricity costs may push data centers to retire older, less efficient systems, asking whether demand for some GPU segments is finally slackening.
