Amazon blocks home-IP personal shopping agents; dev open-sources residential browser relay
unixterminal · x · 2026-11-07
A developer reports Amazon now blocks personal agent shopping traffic from home IP addresses (it previously only blocked datacenter ranges). In response they open-sourced agent-edge-bridge: a key-authenticated web relay on an Arm box driving a real Chromium browser via Playwright for .NET, egressing through a residential connection so remote agents get programmatic browsing with full JavaScript that clears bot challenges. Self-contained linux-arm64 .NET 11 API, one session at a time. The author vows to keep having their agent shop — just not through Amazon.
